Great idea. It'll give players the motivation to kill bosses even if they don't get any drops. However, it might be unfair to players with weaker gear because they'll take longer to kill bosses.

I agree. There should be some risks in the game otherwise it would just be a pvm grinding server.

Great suggestions and really well laid out.

Barrows gear is already worthless due to pvm keys so I don't think we can do anything about that. Making them hard to obtain at this point of time would only widen the gap between new and existing players, which might discourage them from playing.

 I personally rather have a fast paced economy (higher drop rates for mid-high tier gear) so that new players wouldn't get too bored from grinding. Maxed gear on the other hand should be more difficult to get. I'd suggest it being obtainable only from team-based raid bosses, which encourages interaction between players and gives everyone an equal chance of obtaining rare items. There is very little interaction between players in the server currently apart from wildywyrm which is when everybody get together to kill it, so we definitely need more of such raid bosses.

that'll be cool but only for combat-based skills I presume? Having lv 120-125 in other skills wouldn't be useful at all.

Firstly, I'm going to say that it will be very difficult to please everyone. The amount of progress lost on each player is very different. There are some of us who spent days playing to get good gear or max skills, while there are others who played a significantly less amount of time. By compensating everybody equally with 5 Donor boxes and 2 legendary mboxes, you aren't being fair to those who worked extremely hard for their progress. They are the one's who were online most of the time to keep the server active and alive.

The ideal solution would of course be recovering the character files. But if that is not possible, You should at least return players some/all of the known equipment that they had before the reset. For players who lost progress in skills, they should be compensated with dragonkin lamps. As this is a relatively new server, the player base wasn't very big before the reset. It shouldn't be hard to compensate everyone individually according to their needs, rather than give everyone 5 donor boxes, 2 legendary mboxes, and pretend that the wipe never happened at all.
